Does anyone have a good suggestion for card routines for beginners? I'm thinking about learning The Ambitious Card trick but I don't know what else I can do to have a multiple of card effects. Help is much appreciated.

You can follow this up with a trick I saw from a Bill Malone DVD wherein 4 Aces where used and in the end the Ace that turns over everytime becomes the chosen card.

If you don't have "royal Road to Crad Magic" I would suggest getting it.

Royal Road to Card Magic or Card College are great places to start learning card stuff from books...
If you do have some card knowledge already and are still thinking of doing an Ambitious Card check Daryl's Ambitious Card DVD... It's a great resource with more ambitious moves then you will ever need! Good Luck

I advice the book Jean Hugard Card Manipulations volume 1-3. Although it is mainly on manipulations, the routines in the books are very good and direct to the point.

In addition to Royal Road to Card Magic and Card College (If you can afford it), I would also recommend you get "The Amateur Magician's Handbook" by Henry Hay.
It gives you a lot of card, coin, silk, linking ring, thimble, cigarette, and thumb tip effects, as well as many other types of magic. Shane Wiker |

Um k. I RR as of right now. I'm learning from it but not as rapid pace as I would like. I know I should look for myself, but to all of you, wats a good card routine there? Somethin' quick but not too difficult. Suggestions?

I would suggest Born to Perform Card Magic, with Oz Pearlman (DVD), but that's my opinion. It contains tricks and cuts, check it out.
