Hi gang,

I've been lurking here and at other sites for the last couple of weeks, looking for a site to post on. The Magic Cafe is by far the best, so I'm looking forward to making it my magic cyberhome.

I actually got away from the art for a few years, but my love of magic was reawakened two years ago when my childhood hero, Doug Henning, passed away. Since then I've been re-emersing myself in magic.

Lately I've been restocking my library. When I was younger, I developed my foundation using Henry Hay's Cyclopedia of Magic -- now out of print, I understand. Now, I'm looking to solidify myself in various areas of magic. I'm into coins, at the moment, and am working my way through Bobo's.

By the way, does anyone know if a bio of Henning has ever been published, or is in the works? I'd love to read it, of course, but if nothing's around, I'd like to publish it. (I'm an acquisitions editor at a publishing house in Toronto.)

Welcome Friend Magicbarry!

Nice to have you back in the fold! And it is good that you found this place, as there is none like it anywhere else.

Bobo's was the first magic book I bought well over 10 years ago and I am still not through it. But I should get back into it as I am finally "working without the net" of gimmicked coins. Doing Paul Harris coin stuff. So thanks for the reminder!

Man... Doug Henning did this thing on TV, when I was a kid, where he tied these little tissue-paper ghosts and they kept flying out of his hands, into a glass jug, and back again.

I must say that he was really my first real influence as well... so Welcome to the Cafe, and have a hot cup on all of us. Smile

Hi Barry, Smile Smile Smile
Welcome to your home. We feel her as our real home not the cyber one. For example Peter Loughran,Ichazod,Tom Cutts and Manipulix from the Cafe had come to our festival in Izmir. Although we have seen each other for the first time (each other all, I mean) we felt that we already know each other. So have a cup of strong Turkish coffee and feel yourself at home.
