I know something like this has been done (well I think so ) but I have been thinking about an escape from a huge examinable paper bag that can be inspected and then signed by members of the audience .Magician is then tied with plastic ties and the neck of bag is sealed with large gaffa tape with magician inside, the magician is covered with a cardboard box and the escape begins ,the magician then appears at the back of the theatre and the bag is examined unharmed and still sealed and signed,
sorry if this sounds vague but I have been brainstorming this all week (where the hell do I get a bag this big )?? do you think this could play well many thanks Jeremy uk dreamreality30@tiscali.co.uk |

You could make a bag that big by using the 3' wide brown packing paper. This would allow you to make your own seams too... just a thought.

Yep. You could glue the seams together easily using a small tube of glue

As long as you have your own assistant and not an audience member, the Paul Harris signed card to the inside of a folded and stapled shut paperbag, would be a very good method to use, and you could actualy switch places and hand the bag out later for inspection showng the rolled and stapled top still in tact.
For that matter you could have Both the top and the bottom of the bag signed and sealed with clear packing tape with the signitures untouched at the end. Signitures and seals are sort of traditional, but kind of fluff, and can sometimes burn up too much time, and take away from the big effect if your not careful. The big exception would be when the entire effect focuses on just something happening to a signed card, bill etc. Other methods are out there in books from the 40s-60s.

Why not staple the Bag Shut. instead of taping it.

Don,
The Harris effect is stapling. I was suggesting signing and clear taping over the top as extra 'proof' on top of that. Good thinking Jezza.
