In some cases yes you will. I work a lot of festivals and in this situations I have been asked to have it many times. It also is the case with malls and even bigger restaurant establishments.
In general it is always a good thing to get liability insurance and carry it with you wherever you perform. You are protecting yourself and in some cases you will not be allowed to perform unless you show proof of your policy. Kyle

Thanks Kyle, I have conducted a search on the net for the uk and even over here there were lots of companies offering this. No prices were hinted at. How much do you pay in the states for $8 million dollars liability

I only ever needed $1 million in coverage for any event I did and for this I pay about $150.00 in American dollars for a year's coverage.

The best insurance, both cover wise and price wise, I've found in the UK is through:-
Country Mutual Insurance Brokers Telford 01952 641321 Sorry, no e-mail or web details. Cover is £2M, cost approx £160 a year, including flash products. Hope this helps.

You can get liability insurance through the IBM or SAM.

Hi Tony
I don't think you can in the IBM British Ring 25. If you can I'm a member and certainly wasn't aware you could. I'll ask the question and post back here for the other UK members.

You automatically get £5Million public liability insurance if you are a member of The British Actors Equity Association (Equity).
And a huge big YES! you need it. Some agents/venues won't book you if you don't have it. Read this http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......;forum=5 |
