Tomorrow at the Magic Castle, we (Joe Porper and I) are going to show the FIRST ONE... of the new Cocktail Surprise. A cup and ball routine with a mini cocktail shaker, with an all new way. It will include a surprise liquid pour at the finish, with no loading needed.
Keep your eyes peeled for its release.

Yea, Pete, how many did you sell at the Castle?
Did you chop an olive or use it whole with a pimento in the hole? Did you load a suprise in the olive hole?
Nothing would get done at all, if man waited so long that no one could find fault with it.

Pet routine? You mean with a cat and dog?
Uh, there is a large number of ways to go... a basic routine, and a longer routine as well as some side concepts are in the instructions. BTW... I did it for the first time at a dinner party last night (first time for laymen that is, as I had only done if for fellow magicians at Dean's Shoppe and the Magic Castle)... AND... It wowed. It is so easy to do. None of that chop cup syndrome (did the ball release or bounce back) and you can reverse the action in the middle of a reveal based on the audience need (to catch 'em). AND... At the finish -- after the Ammar Turnip production, then the glass and pouring the drink... they were FRIED... "How could you do that... and the drink? Where did THAT come from." were the responses. Before I even started, got nice comments on the "cute little cocktail shaker"

That's logical. After all the strange goings-on, you definitely would need a drink.

Pete,
Can this be performed standing all in the hands or is a table surface needed? More specifically, can it be used to entertain customers waiting to be seated at restaurants? Thank you. Carl |

NO, you need to set the props on a surface. Last night I did it at the W.C. Fields bar at the Magic Castle and did the routine on a bar stool (I was NOT behind the bar as I was not working the gig), but was watching Paul Wilson work for a few friends (the bar was closed and only functions Thurs/Fri/Sat.).

vanishing the ball from the clear glass. This is the kind of magic I like. How does he do it?

I don't know. He described it as we didn't have the props to hand. However, I went home and worked out a couple of ideas that might be the same, but the concept is his.
