Hi!
here is my tablehopping card routine: cut to aces twisting the aces (scotty york´s version, daly´s last trick at the end) ambitous card foto (ben Harris) nfw (i use it for a deck switch) anything deck (paul Harris) invissible deck (i have nearly ten different routines to choose) how do you think about it? greetings from austria mario |

As long as it has a nice flow to it and fits your personality, it's A - OK.
Personally I would not use twisting the aces and NFW in the same set. They are just too similar. I like to keep each effect very different from the rest. Cheers, - Chris Stolz

It could be OK - difficult to tell without seeing you do it. Try and always make the routines involve the audience to the maximum extent. eg. rather than cutting to the aces yourself why not use a spectator cuts the aces routine. For twisting the aces use Darwin Ortiz's subtlety at the end (see Strong Magic)

It's hard to say whether the routines could work or not without knowing something about the performing conditions. I wouldn't perform a long set in a restaurant. It might be appropriate in an Austrian restaurant, but most American restaurants are poor venues for long sets.

Probably THE most important thing I have learned while doing table hopping is that tricks must have either NO or very little reset time... i.e. the time it takes yout to walk to the next table.
As tommy wonder explains, not only does it improve practicing, but also increases your confidence that everything is ready to go again as soon as you are finished. Im not sure which version of cutting to the aces you use, but hows the reset? Also, if the table you are performing for, you are pretty much screwed if they don't like card tricks Maybe have 1 or 2 backup effects that are non card related just incase.
Nothing I do can't be done by a 10-year-old...with 15 years of practice."

I have to agree with Nick. My professional repitoire is very card heavy, but I have a few non card items that I use all the time. Endless chain, chinese challenge, Dennis Loomis chop cup routine are the biggies. Also, I have a few routines which are more than "just a card trick." T&R card, haunted deck and a version of anniversary waltz that needs no reset.

If you want to use a packet trick so you can switch decks I would suggest Color Monte because it will add something different to your routine (instead of two ace routines), still fit in with the card theme, and no one will question why its there.
