Hi,
I have been asked to do some magic on Christmas Day at the local 'Churches Together Christmas Day Lunch', which is where those who will be alone on Christmas Day (the homeless, disabled, single Mums and Dads, etc.) join together for a lunch, have a visit from Santa, sing a few songs, and have some magic...! I am meant to be performing in two stints; from 12-1pm close-up magic around the tables, and from 3-4pm magic on a stage with a sound system. I would like to include a Christmas theme into the tricks which I do, both on the stage and close-up, and audience participation in as many tricks as possible would be good as well. Can anyone give me any suggestions as to the tricks I might be able to do on stage and close-up and any suggestions to how a Christmas theme might be incorporated into it?! As many ideas as possible would be really helpful! Thanks very much, Sam |

There are some egg bags available that look like Santa's hats. I've never tried it, but I've read about substituting Christmas Tree ornaments for the usual egg...

Some of the xmas themed effects I do are:
Stratosphere: xmas tree on tube, balls are ornaments, box wrapped like present. Vanishing wand: Wrapped up in xmas paper torn up and vanished. Appearing wand: From small wrapped gift box. Coin to nest of boxes (wrapped presents Cut and restored xmas ribbon. Torn and restored wrapping paper. They can be done with either gospel or secular patter. |

If you don't have to clean up afterwards, snow storm from China would be a seasonal, and highly visual although not Christmas, effect.
