Tim Ellis' routine and method is fantastic!
Yes, you will have to create a new set now and then, but it's worth it. (And not expensive anyway.) Even if you use a different routine or sw***h, Tim's idea for creating dull blades is brilliant.

I use steel wool. Not fine, but medium or coarse steel wool.

Shave with them. That will quickly dull them out. Don't let them rust. Dry each blade off with a towel after use. Use each blade until it can no longer cut your stubble. Then you know it's dull.

For my Tongue Tied routine, I rub both sides of a double edged razor blades on a steal pipe. About five minutes on each edge does it.

An older post but very Interesting, Ive used Tims Method for years for the swallowing of the Blades and thread etc but I use Paul Potassy Blades for the appearance etc. Paul Blunts them very Little but enough to reappear from mouth.
I use a fine metal Nail File and a few minutes on each side gives you a great set to use as appearing from your Mouth. I think Ive used maybe 3 or 4 sets in 15 years as well as 2 sets on standby ready to go if thread tangles before a show etc and don't have time to muck around. Tims Method for swallow and appearing Blades is incredibly safe . The Blades routine is not for everyone.
