Hi everyone! I'm getting into magic as a hobby, been interested in it for years but only now seriously studying.
I got a mixed assortment of trick cards for myself, with a couple of tricks in mind, and they came with a few joke cards as well -- the 14 of Diamonds, 5 of Broken Hearts, 3-1/2 of Clubs, and the "Tree" of Diamonds. I was hoping that somebody here might be able to suggest some uses for these cards. I'd especially love to use the Tree of Diamonds, since it's such a bad pun Thanks! |

I use a Johnny Paul long card, especially if working for magicians. I am surprised at how many of them have forgotten about them or never seen them.

I'm a big fan of gag cards, despite how corny they are. I just can't help it.
The 3 1/2 of clubs is hilarious if presented correctly. Force the 7 of clubs and tell the spec that the next card you choose will be the same suit and exacly 1/2 the value of the card they chose. You can even say something about hoping they chose an even card or else this won't work. They'll think there's no way you can do this until you throw down the 3 1/2 of clubs. Also, you can do a math gag with the 14 of diamonds after forcing the 7 of diamonds and saying you will double that. And the Tree of diamonds always plays great with kids. I use the usual 3 card monte type of set up. Lots of fun! |
