Hi Everybody.
I was wondering if I can get a review for this item (or a recommendation). I considered purchasing it, but before I do, I want to hear some comments about the book. Thanks again. Cheers, Michael |

It is one of the best. Get it, but do not expect easy to do moves, just great ones that take some learnig.
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

It covers only like 6 moves, but different methods and contexts for doing them plus tricks with them. I think the faro work alone is worth the price of the book.

Genii had a good review on it some months ago. I bought it and have been very happy with it.
With regards to the quality of the material, its Marlo....of course its all great knucklebusting stuff. Enough "easy to grasp" stuff to get you hooked...then the more difficult material will keep you coming back for months/years to come. Enjoy!! Dave |

Not only is the faro work good but if you ever want to venture into false deals, Ed had some of the best stuff. All the deals can be accomplished with the same grip also taught in the book. Althought this isn't a big thing for performing for laymen, but it may come in handy depending on where you go with cards and who your audience is at times!

I have to agree with the others and say that this is a wonderful book. I would reccomend it for an intermediate-advanced card handler, but leaning more towards advanced. It's a great resource after going through the Card College Series and Expert at the Card Table. There are numerous techniques in hear that you're guaranteed to find something new that you will use such as palming cards, false dealing, faro shuffle advice, shifts, etc. There are also plenty of illustrations so it is easy to fallow along. I really like the fact that Marlo gives his insights on certain moves to improve them and his credits are pretty good. Overall, it is a book worth picking up!

Buy it and buy it now! I love this book. Anytime I get cocky all I have to do is sit down with RCT for a few minutes and instantly I'm humbled.
There's lots of stuff that's relatively easy, and plenty more to keep your hands cramped for a few years. |

One of the great things about this book is that, from time to time, you'll think up something you'd like to accomplish with cards, but you don't have a good method of it. Maybe you want to put 4 cards into the deck and control them all together to a specific location, and none of the multiple shifts you know are quite right. You open to the chapter on multiple shifts, and *bam* there's a ton of methods to choose from. You pick the one that fits your routine most neatly and you learn that one.
Don't feel like you have to learn every move in the book. If you learn just a few moves that are perfect for your needs (I'd hightly recommend his "deliberate side steal"), you'll have gotten more than your money's worth. Paul

Hi folks,
I am not really sure whether I should purchase this Ed Marlo's Revolutionary Card Technique book, some said that the book is very advance and not easy to follow the lesson in this book, don't know this sounds true????? Thanks! Best, Andrew Loh Check out my new card magic eBooks "The Magnificent Queens" & "Triple Charms" at: www.cardicianden.com My Cardician Den Blog: http://pasteboards.blogspot.com/ |

Hi Andrew,
I started the thread with a couple questions, and I just purchased it a few days ago. It's a great book. It is advanced. You're expected to know jogs, double undercuts, DLs and other basic moves. They're not taught in the book. This book is great for sleights you want to learn (and there are so many of them). Because Ed Marlo teaches you a lot of variations in each chapter, it's great because you can choose the ones that are suitable for you. My favourite chapter out of all is the false dealing (seconds, centres, bottoms). Overall, it's a great book. Everytime you'll open the book, you'll find something new or something you forgot to read about. My favourite sleight out of the ENTIRE book is the D'Amico One-Hand Second Deal. I mastered it in just a few days (SOLID practice). PM me if you have any other questions about the book. Cheers, Michael |

Andrew,
Get it so you don't miss out on having it later. Chapters on Action Palms and Multiple Shifts, and the Side Steal can be very useful. I agree with Michael above that if you ever venture into false dealing then his book is a must. I learned the D'Amico One-hand form Ed himself and although a great move, sometimes you are hard pressed to sue it because it isn't't a natural way to handle the cards. The chapter on Estimation alone is worth diving into. Card Switches isn't bad. There are also 2 chapters on thr Faro shuffle. All and all a great resource.
