Has someone more information about the Terry Lagerould DVD?

If we forget the horrible "Pastebord presentations 2" his material is top notch, so a DVD would definitely be appreciated. Where did you hear that he's making one?

He told me this on the phone, that he will have a DVD at the end of the year. This is not so far away, or?

I'd love to see a DVD by LaGerould. What kind of material is going to be in it (gambling, Close-up)?

OK GUYS (and gals)......
Terry LaGerould's 1st DVD is finally out! Check your neighborhood dealer/magic shop. It is entitled "Sessions With Terry LaGerould #1". It contains 10 effects: CASINO SHUFFLE A quick Triumph with a perfect psychological approach. NO HOLDS BARRED When cheating is permitted, four aces easily become a Royal Flush in spades. TEN An instantaneous card change that you will want to learn immediately. TARGET PRACTICE A snappy four ace discovery with an inexplicable ending. CROSS COUNTRY COIN See how presentation can create interest and excitement during a simple flourish. MISDIRECTION A brilliant handling and preseentation for "Twisting the Aces". DOLLY Guaranteed to get a laugh as a playing card becomes three dimensional in all the right places. FOURGERIES After four queens are transformed into four tens the queens are surprisingly discovered reversed in the deck. BUTTERFLY A beautiful and entertaining flourish set to classical music. RAP ARTIST The most unique topsy-turvy Triumph concept extant. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The DVD is approximately 30 minutes of typical LaGerould fare. Entertaining plots and patter to easy to learn and easy to perform effects. I am happy to say that I am a close friend of Terry's and have been "on- his-case" for several months about getting this DVD released. He recently sent me my copy and the wait was worth it! With I suppose just a little bias, I rate it on a scale of 1-10........ 9.9! I subtracted .1 because nothing's perfect. LVLEW |

I agree with Lew. LaGerould has been a close-up worker for 30 years as his only source of income. Get this DVD if you want some commercial material.

I have this DVD. I like it. It's short but every routine is usable. lvlew already mentioned whats on the DVD.
Terry performs and explains the routines with the camera on his hands throughout. He goes through everything, but I would consider this intermediate. You should have some basic skill with cards. I highly recommend this DVD. Terry's presentation (I ended up humming some of his rhymes well after watching the DVD) 9/10 Routines (different take on existing routines) 8/10 Teaching. Terry does a good job, but could have spent a bit more time on some moves. 7/10 Overall 8/10 I definitely will buy volume 2 once it gets released. Terry rules! |

I also have this DVD. I'm a big LaGerould fan, but I was slightly dissappointed in this DVD, which I don't think has his best work. His voice and presentations are amazing, though. He kind of sounds like Jean Sheperd(the writer and narrator of "A Christmas Story). I'm not sorry I purchased the DVD, and the effects are quick and easy to do (a LaGerould trademark).
By the way, I disagree about Pasteboard Presentations 2 as being bad. There are some real gems in there. It's not as good as Pasteboard Presentations 1, but it stands on it's own as a nice collection of effects. You can see three of the effects from this book demonstrated by the author (Scott Cram) on the Penguin site. |

Having enjoyed Pasteboard Presentations I eventually got my hands on this DVD. I had not seen LaGerould perform and was pleasantly surprised. His presentations are so clear and slick.
Having watched dozens of L&L DVDs (not that they are bad), it was refreshing to see an alternative approach to teaching card magic. LaGerould's voice is extremely clear and has a nice pattern to his routining. The first thing that I thought was that the DVD was very short, but in review everything had been performed and explained very clearly. The effects are good, they are quick and reasonably easy to perform. I really like the way that each of the effects were explained. I will definitely perform several of the effects from this DVD and I will probably take away more than one good idea about routining by being inspired by LaGerould's presentations. I too will buy further volumes when they are released. |

http://www.terrylagerould.com/specialdvdoffer.html Not sure why Terry is doing this, but assuming it's legit, I think it's a bit of a steal. AtPG
