Just a few words re Paul Greens *In the trenches*.
Due to lack of time, no review, just a recommendation Get it...se it.. Here you can se a real pro at work! Everything he does is exceptional well done magic with *ENTERTAINMENT* in mind.. What can I say.. His Copper/Silver/Brass routine, disguised as 2 Copper/one silver is a masterpiece of direct and deceptive handling.. The coinchange in his hands is startling and fast, nevertheless 'they' don't miss the effect.. His closer using the purse is a very fine solution.. I really like it! The fact I wouldn't use it, is solely because I prefer to do that routine without the use of a table, solely with the specs hands as a *table*, but nevertheless I think very highly of his handling/the purse thing.. Everything is entertaining and well done..the roperoutine..his version of the *Chicago Opener* is a fooler for the specs and very strong.. The *Coming together* routine where 2 specs signature appears on the same card is GREAT..well everything is usefull material, the coinwork is practical and well done too.. So just one more remark.. Get his DVD.. You'll not learn knucklebusting stuff, but practical and workable material you can use within a short time after adapting it to your own way of handling/presentation.. Loved his little story re the spyes.. and the *My name is Green...Paul Green*.. THAT'S entertainment...
Learn a few things well.....this life is not long enough to do everything.....

Thanks Werner! I appreciate your comments. The material on the DVD is a major portion of my regular performing repetoire. I use every one of the items and believe me when I say, "They are audience-tested."
If anyone wants more information, please feel free to contact me directly. I can send you a "brochure" on its contents. The DVD may be available through your local dealer, or through me directly. Gracious regards, Paul Green |

I second Werner's Opinion,
I've had this DVD for a while and use a lot of the material from it. Recently I pulled it out again and watched the performances with my girlfriend. She said.....and I quote "This is the best guy I've seen in a long time." As you can assume, she sees A LOT of magic DVD's. Just goes to show you what a laymen thinks of the material. |

I said it before, and I say it again... This dvd is filled with top notch material. Paul can be seen perform at the Castle, a bar, and in a studio.
Only his C/S/B routine is worth the price of the dvd, and was the main reason I bought it. One of my top favourite dvd's. When will will we see "Son of In the Trenches" Paul?

This is great stuff...not fluff or pipe dreams. Audience tested material right from Paul's working repetoire...what more can we ask.

One of my favourites. I just wish that they'd come supplied with all that's needed, even at an extra cost. I've never gotten round to buying all the sponges needed so I'm missing out on one of the best routines in existance. It's worth getting for Jeopardy alone.

Thanks to Magic Steve, Peo, AJ, & Meilechl.
It is extremely gratifying hear (read) wonderful comments on my offerings to the Magic Community. It has always been my intention to "give back" something. If anyone has any questions about In the Trenches or the Classic Force, please contact me at your convenience. Warmest regards, Paul Green paulgreen@earthlink.net PS Son of In the Trenches is very far off!!! |

Bravo Mr. Green,
As you can assume, their are many magicians out there that would buy a product, solely on the fact that it was producted by you. This is because your first two videos you offered to the community were jam packed with real world material. I think Mr. Green should be applauded because as we all know, if he really wanted to make a quick buck all he has to do is lock himself in a room for a few days and come up with a bunch of OK tricks. I just wanted to thank all the magicians who invent original routines and presentation and actually take the time to perfect them in the real world. And then after years of tryin to reach perfection, the material is released to the public. That is exactly what Paul did for us. Thanks Again...I am definately hoping to see a Son of In the Trenches in a couple years! |

I loved In the Trenches, AND his classic force video. Paul gives up the things he earns his living on. Mike Close's review in magic magazine remarked that the routines weren't completely original - okay, fair enough. But Paul's handlings, nuances and his way of teaching are the best magic has to offer.

I got this DVD solely for the card effect called "Jeopardy." And it's a killer effect that is very easy to do! It is also the first effect shown on the DVD. Owning the DVD for this one effect is a good enough reason to buy it!
The other effects are all entertaining and good, but they are not my specialty. One routine uses sponge balls, another uses coins, and another involves the old cut-and-restored rope routine. There are some other card effects on the DVD, too, but they seem a little more difficult than the "Jeopardy" effect mentioned above. Paul Green's persona is very pleasant both while performing the effects for audiences and while explaining the effects to the viewer. His explanations of each effect are clear, concise, and straightforward. The effects are performed live in front of real, non-magician audiences. Some of the effects were filmed while being performed live while at the Magic Castle. Only one minor complaint about the DVD is that one camera was used throughout. As a result, this means that the camera swings wildly from Paul Green's face down to his hands on the table, and then across to a spectator's face, and then back over to another spectator's face, and then back up to Paul Green's face. These camera motions all might take place in a few seconds! Not a big deal, but probably more than one camera could've been used -- one camera on Green and his hands, and another camera to catch the audience's facial reactions. On a scale of 1 to 5 (5 being the best), I'd give this a solid 4. The only reasons I didn't give it a 5 were that most of the other effects (i.e. sponge balls, coins, rope) don't interest me at all at this point AND the sometimes-erratic camera work was mildly annoying. Highly recommended! |

Did anyone notice? the cover to this dvd seem to have changed with regards to the one promoted by penguin magic.
Is the contents any different maybe added effects due to a re-release or something? Cos I have the older version which has a green cover and not the black cover. My guess would be that its the same but with a revamp appearance that's all cos I read thru and the effects sounds the same. :S cheerios
