Hi there to all. I am new here, but have always had an interest in magic, since there is magic in my family. My grandfather, Leo Irby, was a quite well known magician back in the 1950's and Houdini's wife, while attending one of my grandfather's performances, deemed him Houdini's only true succesor after he successfully performed the milk can escape, which at the time contained undiluted milk. He also performed many times on You Asked For It and was featured in an issue of the Saturday Evening Post. He also helped open Disneyland in 1955 and a few other local locations of Southern California. I know he could have gone onto bigger and greater things, had he not passed on at the age of 57 back in 1959. Unfortunately I never knew him since my mother was 12 when he passed.

I found this site when searching magic sites for my 10 year old son who is showing quite an interest in the field. So after the novel I have just written, lol, I am here asking for sggestions for a young magician of the 21st Century and where he might start. Any suggestions would be very helpful and appreciated. The best place to start is New to Magic located on one of the forums. Just scroll down and you'll be able to view all the forums available at the Café. That forum gives wonderful info on which books or vids are highly suggested depending on where your son's interst in magic lies.
