I was wondering who has this and what you think. As I am a beginner now, I don't see how its possible. So...
It should come with instructions on how to get around it right? I'm a bit confused. I don't want exposure, I respect you and the Cannons way to much. You can pm me or respond here. Whatever is convient. Thanks H

Santini is the developer and inventor of the bluebox for folding cuffs. I don't know of anyone out there with more experience defeating both the blue and black boxes under real live, and test conditions. Email him.
The Cannons box is very well made and a real show peice that the specs are floored by. Different method though. Its worth considering for a regular show. It has been done on TV a couple of times and is well received.

No doubt about it! Steve Santini is the leading authority on escapes on the scene today. I would suggest you contact him and ask away as he is very helpful!

The blue box defeat should also be considered a mile marker, or graduation point in your career study. The day that you take a borrowed set of cuffs, borrowed blue box and borrowed padlock and put them on, and can actualy escape, is going to be the day that you will accurately be able to rate the skills of others as well as yourself.
Then add a full physical and metal detector search. Separates the Man/woman form the boys/girls. Now shoving a toothpick into the keyway of the lock and breaking it off, or filling it full of superglue, well that's another level altogether. that's when you will realy know who the top dozen folks on the planet are, not just by what they tell you or what you hear, that's the day you will Know for sure. The scales will fall away from your eyes, and you will see, so to speak. Now the disclaimer: If you don't own a three foot set of bolt cutters, and have a buddy that's big enough to chop through big steel to help you practice...Pass on the whole thing. Make sense? Just curious but how many folks out there are doing an actual ungaffed escape with borrowed Blue or Black box gear? Belly chain? that's kind of a tough add on realy. Opposing arms through the box? Realy realy tough. Searches? Anyone? This is a good topic for EAs, I would think most folks at least play around with it from time to time even if they don't actualy perform it commercialy.

My restraints might as well be borrowed since they are ungaffed but I find there aren't too many transport systems out there to borrow! I would welcome such an escape with a borrowed padlock as long as I could utilize the same criteria that Houdindi had with borrowed equipment. My restraints are always passed out for examination and officers are invited to exchange or add their gear. I always go through the metal detector search and am willing to undergo a body search.
Yesterday I did a show at a troubled boy's school and had them pick which restrints to put on me. They of course wanted all of them and they wanted to examine each one of them which they did. They knew and spoke of what to look for to find modifications and even knew a surprising number of varying cuffs by name etc. Of course they didn't find any modifications because no modifications were made. The goal of this post is simply to say yes, some of us are doing such escapes but no, the gear isn't that availble to borrow. I guess the short answer is that I borrow where its available. |

Well you are right there. Unless you are doing this at an agency, there are no borrowed items. Bounty agents sometimes have them. I know a few detectives that have them, and of course me.
