Having tried ALL the effects in Dave Campbell Legacy (new book by Peter Duffie; published by International Magic), I think it's one of the best books in many a year! ALL the effects are great for professional use, especially the full-deck items. Peter writes in his usual clear no-fuss way; lovely! It's well worth getting...There are too many tricks to mention; you'll just have to try 'em all!
My only 'negative' is the fact that as a 'legacy' - it's a shame that there are no photos (of Dave) therein!? Photos would have set a period to it. With or without photos; it's a great buy! Paul Gordon |

Any clue if this is offered in the US anywhere. I know this was asked before, but I thought I would ask again.

Thentier,
I can't see the problem. If you are interested in the book why don´t you buy it from UK? It will be the same book and I am sure International Magic will accept several ways to pay and offer you great service. I am very interested in why US citizens seem so reluctant to buy things from outside the US? Do you buy things from outside your state? Do you think it is too expensive to ship? Do you think you will loose money because of the weak US currency? Do you mistrust your customs?

The only reason why I ask is because shipping would be cheaper. If you had the option to by something from Sweden or the US, what would you choose.
I have no problem with purchasing something from outside the US, but, if the option is available, I would like to save on international shipping. |

For me it's simply the strength of Sterling. And I'm in

Hi folks,
I think I am very PITY in Malaysia here if compare to you all. You see, my Malaysian currency versus with Pounds Sterling, it's 7.45. That means RM7.45 equivalent 1 POUNDS. I always have to purchase from US all the time and if I order from UK, the products that I order will SKY ROCKETTING. Thanks for the positive comments Paul. I don't know why there are no photographs because I supplied quite a lot! But Dave's material is fantastic.

Just got this. Am very impressed. Have only gone through the first 3rd of it and it lived up to the hype. Ingenious, elegant, clever card magic. And well written too! I guess that's you Peter. Thanks for putting this together.

Quite a good book.I would not put it in the 'must have' catagory though.
Someone posted that this was better then 'Card Magic of Nick Trost' and the Paul Harris books! I do not believe that..

And why does one think that exactly?

This book has variations of tricks from Roy Walton,Jerry Sadowitz and Alex Elmsley.
Nothing wrong with that, there's also original stuff from Dave Campbell as well. It's just Paul Harris is so out there...so original that I think it was an unfair comparison [by Pacotrix.]There also is not much gambling themed stuff[maybe one,if 'Irish Poker' counts. My favourite items from the 'Card Magic of Nick Trost' would be the gambling themed tricks.

The US $ heading down the sewer certainly hurts, but I did have the book in my hands within a week of ordering. I believe it was 5 days and I didn't feel ripped off on shipping (I've paid more on eBay for shipping from an adjoining state!).
In reading the book I want to try the tricks - my criteria for a good book. Only time will tell its true value. sam |

I just purchased this book. I forget the title of the effect, but there is a great effect involving a triple transposition of three chosen cards. Absolutely fantastic.

Are all the tricks impromptu or do many require a set up or gaffed cards

A fair mix between gaffed and impromptu tricks are given.

Did anyone else feel that there was something missing from the explanation of The Traveller. Page 182 of my book is blank, but it feels like there should be something there.
The end of the effect is obvious, but I would expect that the editors should have picked up this error. Especially considering the price that one must pay to obtain the book. The effect is great, as are many other effects in the book, but I don't think that the consumer should have to fill in blanks. If anyone else who has the book can tell me if this is a mistake with the book, please let me know. Thanks Trevor |
