I have just discovered (by accident .... got them free with an order form pengguin magic) these things and have really had a lot of fun with them:
levitating bills moving any light object (plastic forks, etc) It stays with me all day and is always ready for a little impromtu performance ... great spec reaction has anyone else used these? what sort of effects do you perform with them? |

The haunted deck gets great reactions. Also just floating a borrowed bill leaves em with their jaws dropping to the ground.

Loops are great - try the Mesika loops, they are much better than the free penguin ones

Yeah, they are actually called invisible thread loops, can buy em from most places, use em to move cutlery, float notes, Haunted deck, PK touches and probably my favourite is a borrowed floating ring.
If you mess about with them for a while, you can come up with some real fun stuff, one of my forerunning effect is the "magnetic floating rings." Borrow two rings, hold em together, then they stick, they you let go of both and they are left adhering to eachother whilst floating in mid air, then the spectators can choose which order to release them, and on the count of 3, each ring can drop into each respective spectators hand. Loops are definitely lots of fun. Yigal Mesika has a good book out on what to do with them.

I just bought a dvd called "Unseen Force" and it came with some loops...Does any one in here have a problem with them breaking to easily...Its probally just the loops it comes with...because I just took one off the card and put in on my hand and it broke...Any ideas where I can get some good loops? Thanks

The ones from Penguin Magic seem to be fairly strong ... they certainly don't break just by taking them off the board and putting them on your wrist ...

Yeah, The ones that came with the dvd suck...lol..I need to get the ones that Losander uses. I have seen him use them in person and they have a remarkable stretch to them...theses that I have only stretch about 3 and a half inches.

Loops are great. However, you should look into tying your own to save some money. The breaking is a hazzard with any of the various loops. Too much weight, pull too hard ect. and they will break. Also if you get the loop near velcro, forget it. Wear them all the time and you are ready to perform whenever.

Making my own loops and the norm that I read are to pull a ten inch loop. to start to tie it , don't always have a ruler so can anyone give me a body measurement.EX: from my chest to my belly button.

He has been performing professionaly for about 40 years now, I have been fortunate to attend many of his classes, and I have asked him why he does'nt market more of his signature effects, he just told me that he don't care about the bussiness side of magic effect marketing, he wants to spend his time performing. I know there is several effects out that don't even credit him as the originator, and that's to bad. Mesika did go about this the correct way though, they paied Finn for the rights to market loops, and many of the routines in the booklet are made from some of his old lecture notes and ideas. Finn's DVD is a great recource, here you get a lot of knowlege about his original thinking, unfortunally there is not a lot about loops though. Here's a link to the DVD: Click Here! -e-
