I just ordered my first Okito box, but I don't think that it comes with any routines. Could anyone provide any sort of basic routine for a Boston style Okito box?

Hey there bor62287,
I think it would benefit you best if you checked out David Roth's Expert Coin Magic Volume 11. It deals with nothing but okito boxes. Dr. Michael Rubinstein also has an effect called Okito Clinker on his first Knockout Coin Magic tape. They are really worth checking out. I hope this helps. Brian Oh yeah, one more thing. http://magicref.tripod.com/magref/magokito.htm Check out this site. It has an extensive over view of nothing but okito box information. |

Bobo's is a great place to start and a very good investment for coin magic (Okito and otherwise)

You really should check out Bobo's Modern Coin Magic. The book has a great section on coin boxes.

Bobo, for sure.
Even if you didn't have an Okito box, it's a "must have" book! |

Go with the Bobo Book. It's one of the best resources available for coin magic.

So, bor62287, how are you doing with your box? Learned any good routines? And did it come with any instructions?
I think even a prop like this should come with a basic routine of some kind and instructions for use. Haven't used mine for years, about time I blew the dust off, gave it a polish, and saw what was around suitable for some non table work. I always liked Ken Brooke's Tea For Two (Ken Brooke's Magic -The Unique Years)and sometimes used it in the Chinese restaurant I worked in. Very basic stuff, but good. Paul. |
