I was just missing the insane posting day last week.
If anybody else does this can be an anything goes thread. If not... "Rodan" is the greatest movie ever made!

To answer you (and I am joking just like you, don't take offense)
let's quote the old man from the movie "12 angry men" when he said, "only an ignorant man could believe something like that." (g)

Who won, Godzilla or Rodan? Are they friends now?

Paraphrasing the note left for Oscar in the "Odd Couple": 'Felix Unger'. :) Any battle betwen Godzilla and Rodan was rumor only with trumped up footage. The true Rodans died in the eruption in 1957. D

Took me three hours to figure out that Felix Unger stood for F.U. LOL, thanks for that Xmosis, I just remembered that I need to get a copy of the Odd Couple on DVD. I'm going to go at lunch and pick it up, might even get a copy of the Out of Towners if its available. Vandy

Yeah...that was the funniest bit in any movie I can remember...huge laff in the theater. Still a very funny movie and not at all dated.
As an ex New Yorker, the Out Of Towners had some great stuff...but the ugly broad was distracting... something about that mouth made me think she was about to hurl any moment. Doug "The Rodans did this?"

Its worth looking at her to see scenes like when Jack Lemmon chips his tooth and starts whistling whenever he talks, or the scene where he takes the little boy into the bushes to check his pockets for money.... Priceless!!

Yep...there's some great stuff in that movie.
Funny thing about that...I lived there for many years and never had a single (ie: NOT one) un-toward thing happen to me the whole time...poor Jack. Sandy Dennis looked like she suffered from terminal morning sickness...sorry. But yes a funny movie! Doug "so...most sickening sight." Rodan

Well, Wizard Of Oz... certainly had the better Color!
But Rodan was a much better flyer than those monkeys. Doug

Rodan or King Kong???
The stuff of urban legends: URBAN LEGEND #8. Godzilla trumps Kong for Tokyo fans. The legend: In the U.S. version of the 1962 monster mash "King Kong vs. Godzilla," the giant simian beats the giant dinosaur in their final Mount Fuji battle royale. But in the Japanese version, it is Godzilla who triumphs. The truth: There is no alternative ending for Japanese audiences. Godzilla was actually a movie villain up until 1965's "Ghidrah the Three-Headed Monster," so having him win against the heroic big ape would have made no sense whatsoever for the film. While the American version is significantly different from its Japanese original on many levels, the ending remained the same.

I was the FIRST American writer to release info about that flick back in the 60's. I was corresponding regularly with Eji Tsuburaya and he sent me a bunch of photos and stuff on it. I wrote a piece for Fantastic Monsters Of The Films (look it up!) and the article and photos immediately caused a storm of letters to the editor "LIER! YOU LIE!" "Those photos were obviously FAKED!" etc.
No one would believe it...that precious kong would stoop so low as to be in a Godzilla movie...hahaha. Pretty raggedy Gorilla suit but a fun movie. TODAY is a big day! TOKYO SOS is released on American DVD. The sequal to G X Mechagodzilla released last year. BOTH are about the best Gs ever made. Check 'em out! I have the Asian release DVDs...really top notch movies, great FX too! Doug
