This question might seem to belong to the Books forum but I thought you guys will know better.
I'm looking for Books of these two great men/magicians. I'm not talking about books of their magic secrets and tricks, but ones with their biography and their life stories. Whether the book is about one of them or them both I want everything there is, of that type. thanks btw- Do Leipzig have any book with his magic on it? |

Thanks
about the Vernon tribute to Leipzig - at first I thought it was a biography, but then I read somewhere that it's all about their magic secrets. And I can't believe that that's all - is it really? |

There's not a whole lot on Leipzig available. What is available is somewhat scattered among the magic literature and pertains almost exclusively to the secrets of his effects. I'm currently doing some research to hopefully dig up more data.
Until then, the Vernon Tribute to Leipzig is the best start (it has both biographical information as well as info on his effects). In addition, Leipzig wrote a brief biography that was originally printed in MUM in six parts from 1953-1954. You can find online here: http://www.illusionata.com/mpt/view.php?......articles The only problem with that is that it ends probably about twenty years before he died, so a good chunk of info is missing there. Still, it's interesting reading and gives some info about how he began in magic and his early career. -Jim

Seems like you've done a lot of research on that matter yourself, makes me really glad to hear.
And of course, thanks a lot for the information. |

Henry Hay's Amateur Magician's Handbook has bits of Leipzig sprinkled here and there - even a picture of him standing with Harry Blackstone, John Mulholland, and Nelson Downs.
Also, probably better, Dai Vernon's Revelations tapes have Dai talking about Leipzig at odd moments. He even talks about meeting Leipzig after a show and some advice he gave him. Hope this helps. |

Also there is a lot of Vernon and one lesson on Leipzig in the classic book the Stars of magic...
Plus Leipzig effects pop up in the Spinx mag for time to time... I hope this helps...
