No, but you can build it. First you need a store that will allow you to replace their window...

That's the thing about David's specials. A lot of times you can watch them and be wowed by something that looks so impromptu, only to find later that tons of money and preparation went into that effect.
By making it looking impromptu, it kind of puts pressure on us who do not exist in TV land as David, because folks will come up and say "Hey! Can you do such and such like David Blaine?" I want so badly to answer "Sure! If I had lots of money to spend and time to pre-setup the durn thing!" It's so hard to not blow the real secret to them which of course is the fact that it is all a set up, and in REAL life even David can not do these things "on the spot". He has created an "image" of himself which, I'm afraid, is bigger than life. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy his effects, and have even purchased his DVD, but I sometimes wonder if he himself has a difficult time living up to the image he has created. For instance, I wonder how many times someone has asked him to make a card appear in a basketball, when in fact, he can't do it because there has been no "load". He could only keep himself from sticky situations by making sure he stays AWAY from gymnasiums! (Hey David, if you are reading this , man, I love 'ya!!)

The Vertigo special is very interesting.
If you know how the Copperfield made his 'Mirror' illusion you will make this one. The trick is made by this principle. If you want to make illusion like that, it will cost you a lot. :D |

That's what I just said. This illusion will cost you some big bucks! And then, it would be impractical to perform. better to amaze people with things you can carry around in your pockets and perform on a moments notice!
Why not give some Sankey effects a roll?

One thing I would suggest is to get one of them penitration frames that are like 4 bucks from penguin or something and find out how it is done and you have a rough idea of how david did the effect.

Conclusion: It was NOT a normal window, and it certainly was NOT impromptu! (Despite what the TV audience was led to believe.)

Sometime ppl r too sucker to know the difference between a magician backed by big corporatise which willing to spend million for a single tricks compare with the best magician who good in the art but not exposure.ANd David Blaine is the one! He can achieve many tricks that he desire cos with the dough he can set-up any thing that he want. Just imagine with a simple trick which normally cost $5 and for TV special you inflate to $5,000 budget definitely you want the best way of presenting the tricks.

I just thought it would be interesting to find out David's response when someone asks him to do one of the pre-set effects from his show.

I performed a version this effect last night. The stitches come out in 2 weeks and the bar owner won't press charges if I pay for the glass.

Vertigo I think. David Blaine really gets up my nose coz appart from the big impromtu stuff he does all the rest is off the shelf tricks. Can anyone name a single effect he does that is original to him? He doesn't even put an imaginative spin on them, he just drones on in a boring fashion. ARghhhhhhhhhhhhhhq£*"&%_("*$("$£%&^"!£%"(*%&_("
Keep passing the open windows!

Dave is great, and if someone asked him to do the arm thru glass he would simply pull out a deck of cards and blow them away with some tricks. Soon enough they would forget they even asked the question. I know this because I have seen him do it in person. His mem deck work is phenomenal.

I met him at Tannens about 3 years ago and he was very cool he didn't perform for anybody in the shop and he bought Cardtoon2.I followed him to the elevator and he asked to see my phone and I was like sure he needs to make a call fine.He hands me back my phone I flip it open it says DAVID BLAINE.I was astonsihed. He only had it for a few seconds and I didn't see him touch any buttons and believe me I was watching.
