Hi all,

The Café came highly recommended to me from a friend in the local Ring, and he was right! I've been lurking for a while, decided to finally log in and start swimming with the crowd. Let's see....I've been fascinated by magic since I was a kid, but didn't have the opportunity to really get into it again until about 2 1/2 years ago when I wrapped up grad school and had some free time to pursue it. My main interests include close-up and the history of the artform, including related fields (carnival, vaudeville, etc.). I don't perform professionally (though, admittedly, a few shows here and there to help feed the habit would be nice!). I perform regularly in the area, however, as a volunteer with a local hospital based on the guidelines of Magic Therapy developed by David Copperfield and the Spencers. I've learned a great deal just by reading the Café so far (and many thanks to the local Ring and magic shop too - great group of people) and look forward to participating more actively!

Welcome to the Café. there are some great areas for learning and discussing the history of tricks and magic in general. I think you'll enjoy being here.
