In my area, there are many of these business lead clubs..or so it seems, I just picked up a list with shows the different clubs and groups. Some of these are free to attend, some require a fee etc. Have you networked in these clubs? If you did what was your approach? Do you have any advice to give us on Café about networking in general?

Would like to hear any input about them also. I have been aware of them for years and was just approached about joining one. I know a lot of Realtors that belong to them.

I'm sure folks like Jim Snack, Dean, and the likes would have a lot of input for you on this type of subject. I'm sure it won't be long before you hear from them.

I belong to 2 business lesd clubs, one meets on Tues mornings and the other on Wed. mornings. I have received leads and followed up on them and more than paid for my membership in both.
Just remember that unlike being an insurance agent, they will expect you to perform a sleight at every meeting. I finally asked the president of one of them to sell a house at the next meeting, I can have breakfast now without being called to entertain every meeting. Peter |

I really wouldn't mind doing a thing or two for the groups during meetings..I am just afraid that I don't know that many people I could refer to a group member who wants to say; buy a house, buy stocks or insurance or something like that. That's my only hang-up about this type of networking.

Actually JoJo, you won't hear from me on this topic...well, I guess you are hearing from me...anyway, I've never tried it.
The real question to ask yourself is whether the other people attending are in a position to hire you for the type of booking you are attempting to secure. You might pick up one gig from one of the members, but I don't foresee a lot of business from attending such meetings. I could be wrong, however, and I'd like to hear the experiences of someone who tried this approach. |

You just have to meet the right people and let them know about your services. Also going to trade shows and displaying your services is a great idea.. For an example.: Pharamshysical companies hire entertainers often.. Set up a booth at a local medical convention or the local chamber... Companies are always looking for entertainment and the type of people these events attracts are the HR managers and Entertainment committees... Cheers Curtis Eugene Lovell II

I had been involved in one (LeTip, http://www.letip.com) for several years back when I lived in Los Angeles. I book many birthday parties, a dozen or so strolling gigs and one tradeshow. Well worth the investment of both time and money.
