My husband Norm Bigelow is making a come back starting in April 2005. He plans to be touring full time on or before his birthday August 12th 2006. This depends on bookings and his injury. I am now building the act that will replace the Doors of Death. Along with this Norman and his old friend Mario Manzini have made a secret deal to do a series of original dangerous escapes. All will be filmed. They have never been done before and are very dangerous.
I have been working with Norm on special exercises and his Yoga to control pain.. Norman has withdrawn from all pain medication inspite of the fact he has serious nerve damage. If I thought that he could not do this, I would never go along with it but Norms progress has been so impressive that I believe that he can do these Janet Bigeloescapes that have been planned.. I amvery confident about this plan. If anything goes wrong Norman will have one of the greatest living escape artist working with him during the escape and Mario will attempt a rescue should the pain overcome Norman. I can't think of any other escape artist with as much experience as Mario or who I would trust with Norms life.. w

Norm Bigelow is a very cool man...anything he does turns to gold. I wish him all the best on his upcoming tour and I wish I could see him in action.

Great news and longer waited for. I am a great fan hence the handle. Is Norm still going to be performing the Door's of death? Is Norm going to the EA convention 2005?

As a fellow magician that suffered a back injury, and also went through recovery without pain medicine ... I know how he feels! You must be one heck of a patient and understanding wife.

Good luck with the comeback, I have enjoyed mine thus-far and hope all goes well! But by all means, don't do anything stupid and make sure he realizes his new limitations so nothing makes the injury worse.

Does it look like Norm and Mario might be interested in contributing to the Worldwide Escape Artist Relay (W.E.A.R.)? Their names would add a lot of weight to the event.

I'm Hoping they Will. But I'm not sure how the others feel.

I have spoken to both Norm and Mario about the event and they are both very interested. We will know more as the date approaches but I agree with Doc Midnight that these two giants in the world of escapes will definitely help to get this event the recognition that it deserves. I'm also working on some other big names who I hope will also be interested.
Thanks to Janet Bigelow for the post, I had the pleasure of meeting her at one of Norm's lectures and she's a terrific lady and a real help to Norm's career. It's just amazing that Norm will be returning to the stage and also that he's planning some major stunts with his long time friend, and former rival Mario Manzini. I for one can not wait to see these two living legends performing side by side. You know I'm gonna be there. Thanks again for the post Jan.
