At Copperfield's show last October, he walked over to where I was sitting and stood for a moment while looking for his next assistant. Though I was seated, he looked very tall even hunched over.

Howard, Doug great site, what fun, what depression!
Dang! I’m not taller than anyone living except Danny Devito and Gary Coleman! Even Cher towers over me!!! But then Ann Margret and Debra Harry are both my height! There is hope Dang, double Dang!!! I tried lifts (Penn recommended cowboy boots) but to get to "normal" height they were called stilts! I kept falling over!

Haha, what an interesting question!! I would say they are the size of average men. So, approximately 5'10" as an average?

You should see them in person aka.....most aren't (at least the ones on TV) the size of an average man. I think a lot of people already make in their minds some individuals larger than life because of who they are or what they do.

If I were taller I could still be a rodeo clown / bullfighter. The barrel was too tall! (Limp, limp)
I'm 5'9". For basketball that is the perfect height for elbows to the nose and throat. I leaned that very quickly and often. I am much taller than my doves! (I do use short doves.) Bob Magic By Sander |

This is weird. I'm only 5'7. My mum's 4'10, my dad's 5'2 and both of my brothers are shorter than me so I'm happy. My wife's 5'9 so hopefully our kids will be kind of average!
It does seem to suggest that magicians tend to be shorter than average! Here in the UK the biggest name in magic for many years has been Paul Daniels who we all know is only 2'3 (or probably a bit more like 5'3). Perhaps there's a genetic disposition for short blokes to be magicians? Maybe Merlin was six inches shorter than King Arthur?

Ha ha ha. Nice one.
Actually, while we're on the subject, can you get small TTs? In the past I've just asked for a TT and got a regular, standard size which is always a little bit too big for my little hands!
