Thought this would be an interesting post: If you could have just one piece of antique or collectible magic... what would it be?

Almost had one of those great CW coin ladders, Chance...was gonna trade with a very-well-known ebay dealer of HIGH quality magic, but after all was said and done, he basically ripped me off out of the deal we'd made. I didn't lose any money or merchandise, but our verbal agreement apparently didn't mean as much as a little cash to him. Didn't even get a "sorry", either. I'd love to have one of the coin ladders...it's one of the few CW things I don't have...thanks to you for trading me that Silver Odyssey!

I recently bought a Roterberg Card Star, and I'm thrilled to see it everyday, but having Robert-Houdin's center table would be too much to stand (does it still exist?).

A straitjacket (or anything for that matter) that was actually used by Houdini and to supplement it, a photo of Houdini using it (autographed would be cool too).

I have a dictionary that was given to him for Christmas. Does that come close enough as his?

I would have to go with an Okito Checker cabinet, Such a thing of beauty, and fantastic workmanship. I visit a magic dealer who has one sitting in his den, but cannot for the life of me talk him into parting with it. One day....

I have quite a few piece of C-W and Viking props, including that ever eluding Coin ladder. However, I think my most treasured piecs would be the two (2) pairs of handcuffs used by Houdini to escape from. OOPS, I now have one (1) pair, as I have a good friend who just bought a house and has a room dedicated to magic "The Magic Room, I made a shadow box and mounted it and presented to him as a gift.
Nice to have friends??? |

I want to be your friend massimo!
I would have to say I would want Houdini's Mirror Cuffs. Though I don't think Copperfield is going to be giving those up anytime soon... Allan |
