Well I guess I'll say hi
Hi.
Magic is doing improbable things with odd items that, under normal circumstances, would be unnessecary and quite often undesirable.

Hi there. Welcome to the Café! We think you'll fit right in here. (Almost typed "fart" instead of "fit"). Well, you can do that too I guess. Anyway, welcome to the coziest magic site on the internet. Grab a cuppa joe and get comfortable. You might just be spending a lot of time here. Again I say, Welcome!

I am interested in anything off stage and ungimmicked, now I do like the scotch and soda and the thumb tip etc.etc.etc. But my desire is to be able to do magic well with normal coins, cards, that kind of thing. I like cups and balls and rope magic. Really I just love magic. I am however suffering from massive stage fright. So I hope other magicians will give me some insight. But I am glad I could find a couple of good magic forums. Just today I found Magic Bunny, and someone there had a hyperlink here.... score.

If I only had a forum like this in my younger years....
I started magic in my college days; and that was before videos, computers, even cable TV. I knew of no magicians in the area, but picked up "The Amateur Magician's Handbook" by Henry Hay. It's available in magic shops or at Amazon.com. I suggest a guide such as this to start basic sleight-of-hand. Use it as a reference. The stage fright will diminish as you gain confidence in your sleights. Welcome! Good Luck! and practice, practice, practice!
