Shell Game Series Vol 1 "an introduction to the shell game" by Whit Haydn and Bob Sheets. WOW!!! There are moves on this DVD that KILL! and the best part is Bob and Whit take you step by step so you understand every move.If you think you know the 3 shell game think again. You will learn moves on this DVD that will fool the guys in the know. This DVD goes beyond just new moves. It teaches you how to handle the heckler's.The misdirection for the switch out.The phychlogy behind the game and so much more. I think Whit and Bob out did themselves on this one. Keep checking with http://www.chefanton.com/scoundrelsstore/index.htm for a release date. Don't let this one get by you. Don |

Whit gave me a copy of this when I lectured at the Castle a week and a half ago.
The instructions by Whit and Bob Sheets are very easy to follow. The moves are broken down into their smallest components, so you can easily learn them. Bob even discusses how to make a "tell" an asset, rather than a liability. It starts off with a thorough discussion of the layout, i.e. the things you use. Next, you learn a couple of basic moves and a routine that is good for a small group. Then you learn some more advanced moves. If you study this DVD thoroughly and practice the material on it, you could acutally perform a routine that you could fool really savvy spectators and/or magicians with. There is also an e-book included in the works. I thought I knew a lot about the shells before I watched the video. NAAAAH! This one tips the real work. Get it.

Those shells are the bee's knees. I've been studiously avoiding adding any three shell sets to the cup and ball museum. I'm probably going to have to break down and add some more sets. The sets I have came to me as gifts from various people.
The DVD has given me the incentive to purchase a set of shells, though. I'm just trying to figure out where to start. I already have a set of Vernet shells -- and lots of sets I made a long time ago before the really good shells were on the market.

Yesterday I performed the "fun" Three Shell Game at the local area magic club in my town: there where many new faces included several "kids".
I did many fun effects but the Shell Game was probably the most popular this day. I played the role of a real hustler and the magicians went "nuts". Cups and Balls I have seen millions of times here in sweden, but, the Shell Game is extremely rare to see in action. I think if you have a good routine for Shell Game you can make a very memorable experience for the spectators. If you have the "guts", do it on the streets...I have tried that and it worked out well plus my wallet got "thicker" Knowledge is power: first I had no clue how to execute the Shell Game: now, I after reading and watching great Shell routines my handling has became second nature. I use School for Scoundrels Shells with the Perfect Peas, I give them 10 out of 10. |
