The January to June months are a busy time for school assembly performers. I used to do 75% of my school programs during these months.
If you are already working library schow, schools are the next step up the ladder. Anyone interested in getting into the school marketplace should visit http://www.MagicSuccessSeminars.com for more information on breaking into this important market for magicians. Magically, Jim |

It all depends on your specialty.
I do a lot of proms and graduations (hypnosis.) For the kids performer, schools, libraries, and Cub Scout Blue & Gold banquets are good options. I do quite a few sales meetings this time of year. There are also plenty of business-related events like chamber of commerce and related association meetings. All year 'round there are conventions. Not many are held here in the cold, cold winter months, but there are a few ... And, of course, you can put on YOUR OWN event if bookings are scarce. Fund-raisers are a good idea. For more info on how to do them, see: http://www.markstarr.com/magicians/products.htm#1 |

I suppose it depends on what type of performer you are. As Jim stated, busy time of year for school assemblies.
For me, between now and summer is a much lighter time. Come this summer I get swamped and into the fall with fairs and festivals it's like 4 solid months of madness! (That and I'm getting married this summer as well!) For those performers not getting much this time of year (myself included) it's always a good time to follow up on current clients. You never know what events they've got going on that you could be a match for! Cheers! Robert Bloor

I thought it would be a good post to see where people are and what they are doing. I don't do kids stuff, mainly corporate only and weddings. Thanks Starrpower great link. Thanks Jim Snack Congratulations RobertBloor- do you need a wedding magician? I could fly over. I also do Photography. David Welzman |

Conferences, workshops, employee appreciation events, and, yes, even Holiday parties.

February I do a lot of cub scout blue and gold dinners and then my festival season usually starts picking up in the mid month of April. I also gear up with a lot of b-day parties around this slow time as well and daycares is always a strong market at anytime.
