if I come across a new trick which has really good comedy potential , I will think about adding it to my routine , or substitute it with a lesser trick { this is a very rare occasion , I don't change tricks very often off course !!} and when I come up with a good comedy gag for a part of my routine that's a treasure too

Definitely number 2! You sometimes have to be careful to balance out the comedic aspect of the effect with the magical one, or the comedy will completely overshadow the magic, and nobody will remember that any magic happened. Sometimes, that can be a good thing if it fits your character. Stand up comedians who use magic can do that...Even with The Amazing Jonathan, the magic is still strong (usually) when he wants it to be. When he vacuums the assistant's head with the shop vac, and shows it gone...there's a LOT of magic still there.

In loving memory of Hughie Thomasson 1952-2007.
You brought something beautiful to this world, you touched my heart, my soul and my life. You will be greatly missed. Until we meet again “my old friend”. |

It depends on what changes I'm looking to make to my show at the time.

#2 for me. My style leans heavy on comedy magic. I have bought a lot of great tricks over the years that haven't gotten into the act because I couldn't create a humourous enough routine for them.

The difficult must become easy, the easy beautiful and the beautiful magical.
